Los Iroqueses ( "Los Verdaderos Hombres", según se llaman a si mismos) son nativos de América del Norte. Su pueblo surgió cerca de Ontario, pero ellos eran nómadas hasta que formaron la confederación Iroquesa formada inicialmente por 5 tribus, para resistir la invasión desde Europa y optimizar sus recursos. Fueron los segundos de la historia en establecer un régimen democrático o estado de derecho (los primeros fueron Althing) contaban con 117 reglas constitucionales conocida como "la gran ley de la paz".
Establecía también una división del poder entre hombres y mujeres, estableciendo que ningún hombre podía presidir un clan y ninguna mujer ser jefe militar o sachem. A las jefas de los clanes correspondía elegir a los jefes militares. (interesante :P)

También es patrocinador de la sociedad protectora de animales en cautiverio, una campañas de caridad para poner fin a la utilización de animales en los circos zoológicos, y también el comercio de mascotas exóticas. Jay Kay ha pronunciado en contra de la explotación animal para el entretenimiento.
